We have been working with the team at Lyzzick Hall for several years, updating the luxurious interiors of this country house hotel every January when it closes for regular refurbishment.
The owner Dorothy, her daughter Lucy and son-in-law David like to choose the look and feel. We advise, come up with ideas and show what is available.
The Lyzzick Hall Lounge
Update the lounge without changing the curtains or seating. There’s a large bay window, feature fireplace and high ceilings. It had been quite plain with neutral walls and a pale green carpet.
We took the colour palette from the ‘Acanthus Tapestry’ material on the balloon back arm chairs; it’s one of William Morris’s most iconic fabrics. We recommended purple and gold wallpaper and a trellis patterned carpet. For symmetry we added a pair of diamond mirrors, an antique Georgian buffet table, a pair of lamps and a hand-carved, silver gilt, acanthus style mirror to create a focal point.
